Baked in houseOur story
The Corner Cup opened in 2016 in a former corner store on Pinetree Way. Owners Maya and Daniel Chen kept the big windows, added a second hand espresso machine, and started baking the croissants Maya had been making for friends for years.
The idea was simple: open early, bake everything in house, and learn the regulars by name. Our beans come from a small roaster fifteen minutes away, our eggs and produce come from Fraser Valley farms, and the day old bread goes to the community fridge down the street, never the bin.
Today the morning rush is dog walkers, SkyTrain commuters, students from the colleges nearby and the same chess game at the window table that has been running since year one. Whoever you are, there is a mug here with your name on it, sometimes literally.
